The Rose Studies and Etudes are a vital part of clarinetists’ repertoire. Through these, students work on articulation, phrasing and technique, and are a wonderful body study material. Having lived with them for many years as a teacher and student, I wanted to bring new life to these pieces. The simple act of creating a second line, turning the studies into duets, brings a new perspective.
